Hei!
On behalf of DaveO's family, I'd just like to say thank you for your support and thoughts during such a sad time.
It was such a pleasant surprise to see what kind of a reach Uncle Dave had with so many people across the U.S. and the rest of the world. To me, Uncle Dave was just a guy who knew how to fix a mean bike and go really fucking fast. He always had a collection of bikes in the basement that the was tinkering around with, that I couldn't resist climbing on every now and then. Dave gave me my first bike ride when I was about 8 years old, and though he warned me at least 10 times not to go near the exhaust pipe, I managed to sear a nice burn into my leg that I still have the scar from. It's a fitting memory to have of him.
Which is why when I stumbled across your forum after viewing a post one of your members made on a memorial page for Dave and I saw the jackets you have in the shop, I figured it would be a great way to show Dave's son Josh just the kind of impact that his Dad has made in the Busa nation. I liked the idea so much, I decided I'd grab one for myself too. So you can imagine my surprise when Teppo told me that busanistit.org members would be contributing to cover the costs of the jackets themselves. I'm so thankful, and I know that Josh will be as well.
Thank you so very much for your generosity.
I've promised Teppo pictures of Josh and I in our jackets, which I'll post here as soon as possible.
Kiitos!
-Tara
